You can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport without consular services . After receiving the necessary documents ( photocopy of your passport , travel dates , full name … ) , Vietnamese DMCs require prior authorization from Immigration Department that you will get your visa the airport. The fees range from 25 USD / person for single entry visa USD 50 / person for multiple entry visa , payable in cash directly to Customs Office. This way seems more convenient for travelers .

But be careful , “visa on arrival” have a few restrictions :

– This system only applies to tourist visas at international airports (Hanoi, Danang , Saigon) . Entry by land is not possible.
– Some airlines refuse to board passengers who have not yet permit stamped in their passport .
– There is less flexibility in the validity of the passport for visa on arrival, your passport must be valid for 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. In contrast, when applying for a visa at the Embassy of Vietnam , the period of validity of the passport is only one month.
– Travelers formula ” visa on arrival” lose time to affix the visa at the airport because it must present a letter of invitation and complete the visa application form before you get it .
